Work Connexions base is in the Isle of Man. Although that is only as far, as it is possible for an internet company to be considered in one place. The island has been going through a resurgence for the last 15-20 years. The Manx brand is starting to become known all over the world. Because  we are an island it is controllable. We already have Manx spirits, Manx Meat, Manx wool etc. It almost seems for the people living here all you have to do is start a business and  with a "Manx" before the name and you are guaranteed success, building on a larger brand. Of course such things like this are not possible in larger countries. Japan has done  it  very well. From being known as a plastic producer in the eighties to making now the most innovative products in the world.

  • Remember I do
    I remember the buy British campaign. I think it only lasted as long as the prices were about the same as soon as cheaper imports flooded the market it seem to disappear. Having said that I do prefer local goods any day to food ship from the far corners of the earth. Good for my carbon footprint.

  • Buy British
    The "Buy British" slogan worked for a while too at least in the UK. It is interesting that we associate certain products with certain countries. I always associate Japan with cars and electronics.
