Human emotion...

This post is inspired a little bit by the link that Owen posted yesterday on his site about star wars. It is a truly amazing article where apparently sky walker films refurbished there enormous computing centre once a year. what struck me as really interesting is this continual need to develop. I am sure anyone that has seen Star wars is aware of some of the laughable scenes where the great Yoda is fighting like a high speed bumble bee. There obvious reason for this is that they could not generate the character to act out his part. Of course now a couple years further on down the line. I am sure the results would be much better. As it says in the article a new film always wants to do what has not been done.

I can relate to this  perception and it is very interesting. I deal with a company in India and when I describe something that I need doing, the result is always interesting as it is often not what I intended. As relationships develops we are able to find common ground and meaning. The results has to be translated into computer program. The ultimate aim here is to bring human emotion, and intimacy in to the interaction. Which might well be the next big thing. It certainly is an interesting path at the moment.

Dealing long distance by phone or computer with people from different cultures can be a big problem. It can be hard to appreciate each others working culture. I deal a lot with US customers and their expectations are quite different from their more patient UK counterparts.
