FOX'S Lair's Liverpool sequel will maintain a Manx link through a hopeful managing director from the Island.
Corporate finance company Fox's Lair staged their first event in the Isle of Man in 2006 with 11 of the 14 finalists receiving investment offers to further develop their businesses.

This success has encouraged Fox Captial to hold a second competition in Liverpool last week.

And among those presenting their case for investment was Beautysure Finance managing director and Isle of Man resident Juliet Bentley.

Her Leeds-based company provides finance for medical and surgical procedures.

Two Island businesses, Manx Travel and Debit Direct, achieved success in last year's competition, based on the BBC programme Dragon's Den, but without the cameras.

Director Justin Martin said: 'This is supposed to be an informal, private conversation between applicants and the decision makers from various city institutions specialising in different areas.'

He said even those who do not receive investment offers during the process still benefit from the expert advice they are offered by the panel on how to make their product more investment friendly.

Mr Martin was very positive about Juliet's business potential saying: 'She is sitting on a brilliant opportunity.'

The idea behind Fox's Lair is to help start-up businesses find initial investment.

'New products and services drive growth and the economy,' Mr Martin said. 'But finding finance is the greatest problem.'

Fox's Lair aims to solve that difficulty for those concepts the panel feel are realisable.
